Meetings

The next meeting is scheduled for 6:30pm, on October 7th, under the tent at Harborgate Marina. Which is located under the bridge on route 17.

The Bottom Fishing trip scheduled for September 7th. has been cancelled due to the possiblity of bad weather. There are plans of several boats getting together and trying to make a bottom fishing trip offshore the following weekend. Check with Patrick or John for details as it gets closer.

John opened the September meeting and asked for Fish Tales. Several boats fished in a tournament last weekend and reported mixed results. All agreed that the fishing will get better with the water cooling in the next month.

Augusts Fish of the Month were King Mackerel Off Shore and Spadefish Inshore. No King Mackerel were weighed in. There was only one Spadefish weighed in and the $100 prize went to Don Haddick. Good job Don, I will not report the weight. !!

The fish of the month for September is Grouper Offshore and Spanish Mackerel Inshore. Weigh the fish in at Platts and bring the weigh slip to the next meeting or if you can't make it turn it in to a Board Member for consideration.

Patrick reported that the Rumble in the Jungle is coming along as planned. Most of the sponsors have signed back on for this year along with some new ones. Help will be needed at the docks and setting up and tearing down at the completion. If you can help it will be muchly appreciated.

Dinner Sponsor tickets will be available in the next week. See a Board member to purchase yours. They will go fast and sell out as usual.

Chuck suggested that when members are done reading heir sporting books and magazines that they brought to the meeting for someone else to enjoy instead of throwing them out..

Today, we have over 100 members with one common goal: To spend as much time on the water and enjoying the gifts and bounty that it has to offer. Our club is proud to have as members some of the best inshore, near shore and offshore fishermen in the area. It gives us the opportunity to learn and experience all types of fishing and learn new techniques. Additionally, we are heavily involved in promoting the sport of fishing and ensuring the area maintains its healthy fisheries for the enjoyment of future generations.

In 2003, we started the area's premiere Kingfishing tournament: The Rumble in the Jungle King Mackerel Tournament. We strive to put on a tournament for fishermen by fishermen and to make the tournament as enjoyable for the entrants that fish as it is for us that put it on.

We look forward to seeing everyone on and off the water, sharing information, and striving to keep our area fisheries clean and thriving.
